Space Physiology

By Jay C. Buckey

This book is a good read for those just entering the world of space medicine. It is set up with a chapter for each physiological effect (e.g. Bone loss) of the space environment, including a section describing the issue and its causes, and a section summarizing possible solutions. It does require basic knowledge of medical terms and anatomy, but is otherwise effective in describing physiological effects in understandable terms. This is a great book for the purpose of acquiring baseline knowledge.
